It is an initiative that challenges scientists, students, and companies to collaborate on exploratory research projects with a multidisciplinary approach. Any researcher affiliated with the University of Porto can participate in IJUP Empresas, as long as they form a team with at least one undergraduate or master’s student.
IJUP Empresas was launched in 2011 to foster students’ interest in activities and processes related to the creation and valorization of knowledge, and to bring the academic community closer to the business sector. It is part of the U.Porto’s Research Initiation Program (IJUP Multidisciplinary Projects) and is supported by leading Portuguese companies.
In 2023, U.Porto Innovation became the program’s manager.
